 Barb Miller Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Jarred Sharkey

Jarred Sharkey is the 2009 recipient of the Barb Miller Memorial Scholarship.  Jarred is the son of Randy and Kathi Sharkey of Mishawaka. Jarred attended Penn High school and will be attending Gulf Coast Community State in Niceville Fla. this fall. Jarred started skiing at 3 years old, his first tournament at age 8. Jarred has skied all three events but chose to concentrate on tricks since Boys 3. Jarred has 11 state titles, 3 state records, 1 Mid West regional title, 1 Mid West record of 6520 points set last year at the Cindonway Open, and was 2008 Boys 3 ranking champion. He also holds the Boys 3 state record at 5260 and just set the Men's 1 state record at 6130. Jarred was also in U.S.A. Gymnastics for 7 years reaching level 9 and winning titles in those state championships as well. While attending Gulf Coast Community State Jarred will be driving and coaching at Cory Picko's Ski School in Santa Rosa Beach Fla.
