The IWWF is excited to celebrate 80 years since its founding in 1946, marking eight decades of leadership, innovation, and global growth in towed water sports. Established to unite the sport internationally, the IWWF was created to develop unified rules, competition, and pathways for athletes worldwide. Over the years, the federation has evolved alongside the sport itself, expanding across continents, welcoming new disciplines, gaining recognition from the International Olympic Committee, and supporting generations of athletes, officials, and organizers around the world. From the early days of international congresses to today’s global structure with five continental Confederations, the IWWF’s history reflects continuous evolution, from traditional tournament skiing to the growth of cable and board sports, driven by innovation, youth engagement, and a shared passion. To commemorate this milestones, the IWWF proudly unveils its 80th Anniversary logo, a symbol of its rich heritage, global community, and lasting commitment to the future of towed water sports, along with a video celebrating how far the sport has come since its beginnings. As we honor the past, the IWWF looks ahead with confidence, inspired by athletes, Federations, officials, partners, sponsors, and supporters who continue to shape the next chapter of towed water sports worldwide.
