Another
successful NSL Tournament this evening. We had 11 registered skiers enter
for tournament night of the Monday Night Ski League. All participants
placed and took home trophies, hats, and participant pins. Apre' ski
included burgers from the grill of Jeff Rash. Thanks to all who helped:

Monday Night Ski
League wined and dined 10 skiers on Tournament Night at the Fairland Ski
Club. Without a break for a rain/wind storm, we had plenty of time to
pull a Tournament Section and then each skier got an additional 2 sets of
pulls thanks to Mark Qualkinbush and Bill Roach offering to keep the boat
going. Trophies, shirts, pizza, and drinks were enjoyed by all.
We will be
continuing our Monday Night Ski League on August 1st,8th, and 15th with our
final tournament on Sunday, August 21st @ SKI located at Shelbyville,
Indiana starting @ 9:00 AM.

The Ski Klub of
Indianapolis hosted the final NSL Tournament of the season at their home
site in Shelbyville, Indiana. The weather and skiing conditions were
great! It was rewarding to see the sharing between 17 registered "ski
people" at this event. Several participants came up to me and expressed how
"Down" they were knowing that there would be no more "Monday Night Ski
Leagues" this season. It's been rewarding to see the progress of some of
the regulars.
The exchanging
of phone numbers and addresses today made me proud to be one of the
helpers. I'm going to really miss seeing some of regulars.
This project
just wouldn't have succeeded without the help of Bill Roach, Mark
Qualkinbush, Jeff Rash, Mike Baker, John Kniesly, and some other devoted
water skiers. (I'm sure I left someone out!!!) The Fairland Ski Club
played host to all of the Monday Night events and Ski Klub of Indy played
host to today's event. Over the summer this project exposed 30 skiers to
"tournament skiing." Many participants came out never having skied a
tournament site. Who says water skiing is dying?
