5/11/08        Safety Clinic a Success

The 2008 safety clinic was attended by 17 water skiers from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. Participates represented 3-event, wakeboarding and barefooting and 15 students were attending their first safety clinic. Held at Avon High School, instruction included Adult CPR training, basic first aid, water rescue, and placing an injured skier on a backboard. This is always one of the best safety clinics you could attend whether you plan to be on the water or not. Look for it again next year...

4/29/08        Geist Half Marathon and 5K

This actual event has just filled and is closed, but they are still in need of volunteers. If you happen to be in this area and want to support and help cheer on the 4500 participants that have signed up for these races please see the link for more info. geisthalf.com

The Geist Half Marathon and 5K, presented by Community Health Network. Here's a brief explanation about this race and why it is unique…The money raised is directly channeled back into the local school systems (Lawrence Township, HSE, and Mt Vernon to name a few) and is going to be used for ONLY health and wellness programs.  Additionally, there are more than 1200 local children training for this race and they will be running the Geist Half this year.  This event is directly improving the health of our children in the community now and

in the future.  This is a family event and unlike other for-profit races, the money is kept in the local area. The website for the race is www.geisthalf.com and runners and walkers can register online.  Volunteers can also register online. Many of the local water skiers live in this area and have children in these schools.  I couldn't think of a better way to to test your fitness before heading into the upcoming ski season. if  anyone is interested  in participation  or volunteering please check out geisthalf.com

4/26/08        IWSA_ads Address

It seams that the E-address listed on these pages to get a hold of the web master has not been working. Since I just figured it out there has been messages dating back from 2007 that I haven't been able to address. Please accept my apologies and if there is anything I can do in the future it should now be in working order.
