Thanks to Bill Roach for hosting the IWSA sponsored safety clinic at his Carmel home on Saturday, May 11th.  Scott Tynan, John Kniesly, Neal Clark, Dave Jarrett, Nikki Shaffer, and Kelly Luther studied and practiced CPR and first aid techniques, watched videos, and tested on USA Tournament Safety Rules.  The fun began when the crew invaded the neighbor's pool for "in the water" instruction on this cool weather day.  Role playing brought out lots of laughter accompanied by valuable "in the water" experience.  A warm up session followed in Bill's hot tub. Safety Clinic - This clinic is a must for anyone even close to water side activities. You don't need to be a big skiers to benefit from this clinic. You never know when you will need these skills to save someone in a water side activity. Details on the safety clinic are here

Jr. Development Clinic - The Jr. Development Clinic has spots reserved for beginners through advanced skers, so don't be intimidated to sign your kids up to get some great instruction weather it's getting your child off on the right foot, or if they need a new techniqe to get them to the next level, this clinic is the best for kids. Mid Indiana Marine  just delivered a new Malibu TXI for use at this summer's Malibu Monday Night Ski Leagues and other tournaments around Indiana.  Monday Night Ski Leagues will use a new format this summer combining instruction and handicapped competition.  Watch for more soon at http://www.indianawaterski.org/ and facebook.

There are a few clinics coming up this season to check out. Coming in June is a Drivers Clinic. This clinic is for aspiring Trained Drivers as well as credits for maintenance. Then June 8th is the date for the Trick Clinic at the newest active lake in the state, Brewski Lake. This clinic will accommodate the newest trick skier trying to learn how to ride those goofy skis, to the most advanced tricker trying to learn a flip. Finally don't forget to come out to the Spring Fling. The inaugural event to kick off the season, The annual Indiana Water Ski Association  SPRING FLING is SATURDAY, June 1st at Fairland Ski Club   -   I-74 and Fairland Road exit southeast of Indianapolis.  The Fun begins at 11:00 AM and continues until 4:00 -5:00 PM.  Free food, free skiing, Free Fun!   Ski behind the new Mastercraft 197 provided by Pinecrest Marine and the new Malibu TXI supplied by Mid Indiana Marine.  Bring your old equipment to swap.  $7.00 guest fee for non USA Water Ski members.

You'll be seeing Neal Clark's new MasterCraft Tournament Team Skiboat  at water ski tournaments this summer and what a beauty it is.  Neal took delivery last week from Pine Crest Marine and has already tried it out at Silent Shores where he is a member/skier.

As some of you know, Dan Reed was selected to the 2013 US World Disabled Ski Team for the 3rd (and probably last) time at the Disabled Nationals in Sacramento, CA this past August. The US Team seeks an unprecedented 3rd World Championships victory in a row next August in Milan, Italy.
