If you were not already aware, the 2011 US Disabled Water Ski Team was
once again selected as USA Water Ski "2011 Team Of The Year". This mark's
the second time in a row the Team has been honored with the Title and
again, is the only Disabled Team in history to be given this Award. The
Teams own Jessica Radmilovic (Pine Grove, Calif. ) was selected as 2011
Female Athlete of the Year, with the US Team's Coach, Matt Oberholtz as
the 2011 National Coach of the Year, and Freddy Krueger being selected
again as 2011 Male Athlete of the Year. The 2011 Disabled Team has been
invited to the 2012 Board Reception and Awards Presentation, to be held
Jan 28, 2012, this weekend, at the Lake Eva Banquet Hall in Haines City,
FL, IWSA's own Dan Reed and IWSA board member is planning on attending the

Angola Skiers
|
Angola Water Ski Club member Zach Willig took
advantage of the warm winter weather to get his first ski ride in before
the water on Lake James freezes over in Angola IN. Zach is shown
here waiting patiently in 35 degree water with no wetsuit or dry suit
ready for his father to pull him on his first ski run for 2012. The crazy
duo had their pictures in the Angola Papers with a write up on the fair
weather we've had so far this winter. |

Nate Smith

BallOfSpray has announced that Nate Smith has been
chosen 2011 BallOfSpray's Male Skier of the Year. Smith
ran 39 off in thirty-seven consecutive record capability rounds. A look at
the USAWS score book for 2011 shows sixty-two scores for Smith, three with
a score into 39 off, fifty-two with a score into 41 off, and seven with a

Still Skiing in December
Dan Federspill and Dave Jarrett represented the
Fairland Ski Club and IWSA at the annual Misouri Disabled Water Ski
Association's Polar Bear Water Ski event held on the Mississipi River
underneath the St. Louis Arch. We worried all the way over bucking 40
mph wind gusts and thought this is not going to be fun! Down at the
water's edge there was zero wind, sunshine and 48 degrees. A great
afternoon for the event...calm enough even for one of the fellows to do
a barefoot run! The "reclinoski" even made an appearance! Event

Day (in Santa Suit) has promoted this event for years. Over $4,000 was raised
for the MDWSA today from this event. More pics

Still Skiing in December
|
Several
skiers are taking advantage of the open waters in the southern part of the
state. Word has it that Sawmill Lake is still active as well as a few
pictured here enjoying a run on December 30th at Sweetwater Cordry Lakes.
IWSA board member Tony Lambert had to try out his new Christmas present
and daughter couldn't let dad out do her! Other skiers included Jim
Schenck and Bryan Dougherty. Some pics

Ballast Bags
Anyone that has been tossing big
rocks or heavy metal weights in and out of your boat to try to get the wakes
level or for what ever reason, here's a better answer. These are shot bags,
made from 18 oz. black vinyl with 1" nylon web handles. Better than metal,
better than rocks, and won't scratch your boat if accidently dropped. Check
