Ron & Marcia Stolz
2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

.Ron, Marci, Shellie, and Ronnie grew up on the water and wanted to bring that family fun to the Indianapolis area. It was from this family-oriented sport that they opened Skiers’ Edge Pro Shop on October 4, 1989. Even before the Pro Shop opened, Ron and Marsha operated the Mastercraft dealership in the Castleton area displaying the first ever Mastercraft along with the 25th Anniversary Stars and Stripes Mastercraft at the 1993 Indianapolis Boat Show.
As the Pro Water Ski Events started looking for venues around the country the Stolz Family became involved and sponsored many of the events. Ron along with John Kniesly and Dr. Larry Davis they secured the White River site (Lake Indy) for one of the largest crowds ever to watch water skiing. Eventually, the U.S. Water Ski Team Trials were also held at this site 1990.
Not only providing boats and labor for many of the Pro Tour event, the Stolz Family provided hospitality and sponsorship for many of these tour stops. They also provided sponsorship for the Indiana Water Ski Association State Tournaments, Banquets, Junior Development and Trick Clinics. They also provided sponsorship to several Collegiate Water Ski Teams. They provided boats for the first IWSA Disable Clinics, the Learn to Ski Clinics on Lake Indy and the INT tournaments with Jerry Hickman.
After 30 years of service to the water ski community, the Stolz Family closed their Skiers Edge Pro Shop in February of 2017. The Mastercraft Dealership and Skiers Edge Pro Shop were closed to Indianapolis…but, not to those of us who remember all their efforts and love that this Ski Family provided to those who love to ski. Their mission statement from the beginning read as follows: Bringing friends and family together through the lover of Watersports! Daughter Shellie said “we grew up on the water and wanted to bring that to our area. Plus, it allowed us as a family to work and play together.
