Tired of winter and snow? Take a break by going to a boat show. The Cincinnati Boat Show continues through January 23rd. The Louisville Boat Show operates January 27th - 31st. The biggest one of them all is the Indianapolis Boat Sport Vacation Show begins on February 19th and continues through the 28th.

Christmas is past and the new year has begun. It's time to look forward to 2016 and what it has to offer. Several really unique events have been sanctioned for the 2016 tournament series. It's going to be "NIGHT SKIING!" at the Boondocks tournament in June. The tournament will begin at 5:00 PM and continue into the night under the lights. Do note that grassroots level skiers are encouraged to participate in this special event. (I'm taking my tent!) Not to be outdone, the Silent Shores July tournament is a "TEN BUCK TOURNAMENT!" That's right, ten bucks ($10) gets you a set at a class C and grassroots event. Who could pass up this bargain?! Want a second or third set, put in an additional ten bucks! The State Championships will be at Cindenway Shores near Warsaw, Indiana and again......all levels of skiers are encouraged to participate which includes grassroots level skiers. (All participants at the State Championships must be Indiana Water Ski Association (IWSA) members) Don't miss the season opener Spring Fling to be held at Brewski Lake. Trickers are already signing up for the Trick Clinic instructed by the Harrison family. Be sure to check the USA Water Ski web site for the tournament schedule and registration. Some events are "on-line" registration which makes it easy for participants and hosts. Happy New Year! - See you at the Boat Show! The warm weather prior to Christmas brought out other Indiana water skiers. Scott Tynan played host at Sawmill Lake on several different days pulling Nate Smith, Tony Lambert, Neal Clark, Paul Miller and probably several others. Up at Lake Freeman, Christmas Eve saw Santa Claus (Howard Little) and several elves being pulled behind one boat for a multiple ski session. |
