Shane Bucher, 2021 Rollie Williams Award Winner Rollie Williams was an active water ski enthusiast who was a big part of organizing and heading up the Indiana State Water Ski Club, now known as the IWSA, presents the Rollie Williams Memorial Award to an outstanding member. The award recipient is selected by past recipients desiring to be active in the selection process and willing to support the tradition that the winner remains undisclosed until the presentation is made at the Indiana State Championships. The inscription on the award reads, “Rollie Williams Memorial for 2021 Awarded to Shane Bucher. An outstanding member of the I.W.S.A. who through his display of sportsmanship and leadership has promoted the sport of water skiing in the state of Indiana in a matter characteristic of the late Rollie Williams.

Thanks to Timberlake Ski Club for hosting the 2021 IN State Waterski Tournament! The weekend was a huge success with great weather, Junior Development day on Friday, lots of new PB's, many first time skiers, and a ton of junior skiers. Congratulations goes to Shane Bucher for the Rollie Williams Award, Andrew Schmitt for the 148 foot jump to secure the Mark Wiggs Memorial Jump Trophy. Also, Cindonway for securing the State Team Trophy, with Timberlake second and Kodiak third place. Finally, Don Bucher for the Crash Helmet trophy for best splash. This event could not have happened without the judges, scorers, drivers, safety and everyone involved that volunteered their time...THANK YOU!! Good luck to everyone competing next at the Midwest Regionals! Good luck to Casey Contos as he competes in the 55K WEST (World Elite Slalom Tour) tournament this weekend at Swiss Waterski Resort in Clermont, FL!  Hawthorn Mid Summer Cancelled
