Silent Shores certainly did not live up to its nickname today! It might have been a little cool in the early morning but the lack of wind made for ideal water skiing conditions! The number of skiers was light due to competing tournaments in nearby states allowed for skiers to get their 3 rounds in by 1:30 PM. Casey Contos was high man on the totem pole with the best score of the day and nervous Nellie Scott Morton got into 35' off! The hospitality flag was flying with the famous Silent Shores Pork Burgers being served for lunch. Next tournament is the IWSA State Championships at Timberlake near Evansville, Indiana next weekend. It's not too late to sign up!

Brewski Lake hosted "boy scout day" on Saturday July 8th, 2017. Several scouts from 2 south side Indianapolis boy scout troops came and water skied during the day earning points towards their water sports merit badges. Having never been water skiing and/or in or near boats was a rewarding experience for all. Several of the scouts mastered long line water skiing and all enjoyed the water toys at Brewski Lake. Out of state skiers from Michigan and Illinois joined the Indiana skiers at the July 1st Hawthorn Mid Summer tournament. The wind gods were not kind producing a strong wind out of the west but that didn't deter several skiers from posting some "PBs." Charlie Cross and David Meinhardt achieved their "PBs" along with Julie Mishler of Camelot Lake who set a new Midwest record for Girls #1. It was especially rewarding to see 9 junior skiers participating in this event. Next tournament next Saturday July 8th back at Hawthorn. Torrential rain came to Central Indiana on Thursday and Friday prior to Hawthorne’s Mid Summer Tournament making it necessary to delay the competition until Sunday. Exceptional performance were achieved by Neal Clark running the 38 off pass in slalom and Briant Beaster Detty booming a beast of a jump at 190 feet. Below are the best performance of the competitors.
