The first sanctioned tournament of the 2015 season is now in the record books. It was Scott Tynan weather although the sun was too bright in the morning! The first skier off the dock got the luckiest break of the day. Tom Sims made his opener but on his return pass the sun/glare made 3 ball and 5 ball impossible to see. He was allowed a re-run and he finished his complete runs in one direction each pass and spinning back to point of beginning for each successive pass. Also take into consideration that each of his "non-glare" passes was also into a slightly favorable head wind! SlimTom Sims skied his personal best by running 3 @ 35' off. The tournament was then delayed for approximately 1 hour until the angle of the sun changed and there was no more glare. Tom was the envy of all the rest of the skiers of the day! The conditions of the day included a constant head/tail wind which made planning your runs a challenge. Did'nt seem to bother some skiers including Indiana's own Nate Smith who ran 1 @ 43' off multiple times. Next week...Silent Shores.
